Where I went #

ครัวจำปาสี่ต้น is located on the main road from Udon Thani to the incredible Wat Pa Phu Kon (only 15 minutes apart)

Situated on the edge of a small town, it stands out as you enter from the Udon Thani direction. Out the back is a ‘secret garden’, offering a tranquil eating experience, overlooking the small Nam Rang river.

What I liked #

  • After a few hours of travelling, it was great to relax in a mini-oasis.
  • The owner was extremely kind, spoken English well, and was patient while I struggled practising my Thai :)
  • I was taken to a hidden back garden, away from the noisy road, with a variety of flowers creating a nice ambience.
  • All of this is nice, but critically, the food was great too.

What I ate #

I tried the ‘Cha Keow Yen’ (Ice green milk tea) and ‘Khao Phat Talay’ (Seafood fried rice). Both were enjoyable and filled a hole in my stomach.

The price was reasonable. Not comparable to hawker food I have had, but offers superb value given the quality and the facilities.
